依據臺灣糖業公司運輸規章彙編,軌道車及巡道車之車號須由三位數編列之,各廠不得擅自編製,以免與臺糖公司其他按照車輛符號規定編號之車輛發生紊亂;而軌道車及巡道車編號規則如下:
